Beyond The Form
The cultural duality I was raised in propelled me to question what is conventional and what is accepted. What makes up my identity and what is left behind. What feels naturally me and which parts did not fit. In my teenage years I left the only life, in the cultural mix, I know to go pursue my college education in a third culture. One that was so foreign to me. One that shared no commonalities with my own. Only to spend the next 15 years immersed in it.
I created this series reflecting back on the journey across the transformative time in my life. As my identity was formed, as my values were shaped. No one mould to fit in, no rigid frame to occupy. I am not one but many cultures living beyond the form.
